The MWE-08 weighing ring is a flow scale that allows weighing plastic granulates and bulk additives fed through a conveyor. The MWE-08 mounted under the conveyor does not affect its operation, it only records the weight of the material poured through the conveyor. To enable stable assembly of the conveyor on the weighing module, mechanical fit of both devices must be ensured (appropriate spacing of holes for mounting screws).
However, in terms of control, both devices are fully autonomous. The weighing module controller is not connected to the conveyor controller, which makes its installation simple. The weighing module is also easy to operate thanks to its controller with a clear graphical interface.
The MWE-08 weighing ring is used for accurate weighing of plastic granulates such as PE, PP, PET, as well as their regrinds fed by a conveyor. Weighing does not disturb the conveyor’s operating rhythm in any way. It consists of two parts:
1. Scale
The scale is made in the form of a cylinder with a diameter of 300 mm and a height of 80 mm and should be mounted under the conveyor whose material flow we want to weigh. The scale has appropriate mounting holes on its flat surfaces, which enable the conveyor to be mounted stably on it. A detailed description of the location of these holes is provided later in the documentation. The total weight placed on the scale must not exceed 50 kg.
2. Controller
The controller is connected to the scale by a 3 m long control cable, which is permanently attached to the scale but can be disconnected at the controller. Additionally, the controller is equipped with a stand/holder and can be permanently mounted in a place convenient for the operator.
After installing the scale and connecting the control cable, the controller must be powered, i.e.: plug the power supply into a ~230 V socket and set the switch on the controller housing to the “I” position.
After turning on the controller power, the weighing module is ready for operation. To start weighing, press the “START” button on the controller screen and start the conveyor. From this point on, the weighing module records the weight of the fed material, which is illustrated by the number displayed in the appropriate field on the screen. A detailed description of the screen and controller operation can be found later in the manual.
